Introduction

Brooke Pickering is one of the foremost authorities on Moroccan rugs and the only rug dealer in the Northeastern United States specializing exclusively in Moroccan material. She is co-author with her father W. Russell Pickering and the late Ralph Yohe of the 1994 book Moroccan Carpets, and is a frequent lecturer on the subject for rug clubs and art institutions. She has written articles for publications such as Hali Magazine and Oriental Rug Review.

Pickering personally selects knotted pile rugs, flatwoven rugs and Berber weavings such as saddle bags, blankets and pillows for her showroom based in High Falls, New York in the Hudson Valley. She works by appointment and via photos with designers across the U.S. from Long Island to Los Angeles. Her rugs have appeared in numerous national magazines including Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Elle Decor, and House & Garden.
